Excursion

A guided tour of Madrid's Royal Palace.

Ms Cristina Cabrera, a member of Madrid's Asociación Profesional de Guías de Turismo, was our excellent tour guide. A bus service courtesy of Madrid Convention Bureau took the participants from the Royal Palace to the banquet.

Banquet

We treated ourselves to Northern Spanish cuisine at Sidrería-Asador Gaztemanu.

First course Jamón de Jabugo (cured Jabugo ham)
Gambas blancas de Huelva (white prawns from Huelva)
Tarrina de foi gras (foie gras paté)
Croquetas de bacalao (cod croquettes)
Chipirones fritos en salsa de bogavante (small squid fried in lobster sauce)
Ensalada de pimentons con ventresca (pepper salad with ventresca tuna)
Second course Á la carte, choose from an extensive selection of salads, soups, rice, fish, grilled meat (we recommend ‘Txuleton de Buey Gallego’), casseroles, stews, etc
Wine Rioja (Ribera Rueda and Rosado Navarro)
Dessert Variado de frutas, helados y tartas (assortment of fruits, ice cream, cakes and puddings)
